God Our Father, we thank you for our parish community of St. Catherine of Siena. Thank you for the many blessings that you have given us, but especially for calling us to serve as disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. As we gather today, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do. Transform our hearts and lead us closer to you. Help us always to seek to be a parish that is Centered on Christ and Ablaze with Love. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother. St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us!
Please join us in praying for the following specific intentions in connection with St. Catherine of Siena striving to become a parish "Centered on Christ, Ablaze with Love."
APRIL 2021
Thanks be to God for the removal of virus-related capacity limits for churches, which allowed the families of our teen Confirmandi to be present as Archbishop Aymond administered the sacrament! Fr. Michael Champagne also touched the hearts of many at our parish mission in March, and the Alpha retreat allowed participants to experience a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We look forward with expectant faith to the fruits that will result from receptivity to the gifts of the Spirit in our parish and community as we work to spread the Good News. “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works…encouraging one another.” Heb 10:24-25
Please say the St. Catherine Prayer daily in April for the following intentions:
*That the joyful, glorious gift of the Easter season may permeate the souls of our parish community, especially the RCIA members received into the Church at the Easter Vigil, and that the graces of the Divine Mercy bring peace and healing to our Church, our country, our families and our hearts.
*For all Catholics to return to Sunday Mass and the gift of the Eucharist as virus restrictions ease with vaccine availability.
*For our second-graders as they make their First Holy Communion, that their experience of the Eucharist may begin in them and their families a life-long devotion to and appreciation for that gift.
*For our SCS parish as we celebrate our 100th year, that as we reflect with gratitude on those who preceded us in serving God through this parish, we may be stirred to a renewed zeal to continue to carry out the mission of the Church in our community.
*For the Nashville Dominicans as they discern God’s will in responding to the invitation to extend their ministry to SCS parish and school.
*For an end to racism and for peace and healing in our country and in the Church.
*In thanksgiving for the availability of vaccines for Covid; for all who are suffering in any way as a result of the virus; and for prudence for those in leadership.
*For the priests, deacons, staff and ministry leaders at SCS, that they may work to develop cultures of prayer, teamwork, and true discipleship in our parish, and that they are protected in their work; for Dcn. Don Richard as he continues treatments for cancer; and for Fr. Ronnie, that he may be filled with Christ's grace and peace.
