The Belizean education system obligates students ages 5-14 to attend school. If the student chooses to go to high school, the cost for the student, books fees, and uniforms usually amounts to more than the family can afford and therefore chooses not to attend. For four years of high school, the cost for a student to attend high school is $900.
St. Catherine of Siena would like to offer the opportunity to at least 10 students entering high school this year to attend high school through the St. Peter Clever Parish Scholarship Fund.
Each student who is eligible for this scholarship, is not able to pay for any part of their education themselves, must maintain a C or higher in all subject areas, show interest in using their education to benefit the local community after graduation, and agree to 30 hours of community service each year.
If you are interested in sponsoring a student on a yearly basis for 4 years at $225/ year or pay the full $900 for each student, please send a check written out to St. Catherine of Siena with Belize Scholarship in the memo or pay online by selecting the buttom below.
